1000A GBT Fast Charging Plug High Power DC Charging Connector

The Megawatt Charging System (MCS) is a charging connector under development for large battery electric vehicles. The connector will be rated for charging at a maximum rate of 3.75 megawatts (3,000 amps at 1,250 volts direct current (DC).  A DC fast charger, also known as a Level 3 charger, is a high-power electric vehicle (EV) charging station that delivers direct current (DC) electricity directly to the vehicle’s battery. 

DC fast chargers are ideal for situations where drivers need to quickly replenish their EV’s battery, such as on long trips or when time is limited. 

Low-range DC Fast Chargers (50 kW): Around 60–90 minutes to fully charge a standard EV. Mid-range DC Fast Chargers (100–150 kW): Around 30–60 minutes to charge from 20% to 80%. High-range DC Fast Chargers (up to 350 kW): Can provide substantial charge within 15–20 minutes.
